C.F. Burkheimer 7125-3, 12'5", 6/7/8-weight

A prime summer steelhead rod for Oregon waters. Like most three-piece Burkies, this rod has a classic Spey action, with a stiff tip and deep flex right down into the cork. We find that it's more of a 6/7 than a 7/8, but that could be personal preference. Light tips and polyleaders and a 450-grain head are right in the sweet spot for this rod. But, like most Burkies, it also had the backbone to chuck 500+ grain Skagit heads and T-tips. This rod really shines in tight quarters. And, like every rod that comes out of the C.F. Burkheimer shop, it just has that Burkie feel.
